Howie

I have been here at the independent office of Dumas & Company since I started my real estate career way back in 1992.  Dumas & Company is a small office, specializing in personalized and professional service for each client. Once I learned the process here and compared it to other offices – I realized there is no other place for me. I believe in the level of service we give here and I like that the quality of service here embodies the way I like to treat my clients.

Shortly after I began in 1992 I added Janice Fager to my business. Janice is my high school sweetheart and adding her to my business practice is one of the best decisions I ever made. We make a very dynamic team and both of us bring very different strengths to the table. I will let Janice tell you more about herself – just don’t fall in love she is already taken!

The most recent addition to our group is Carleigh Klein. We added Carleigh in 2005 in order to handle our expanding business and provide an even higher level of service to our existing clients. Carleigh is also Janice’s oldest daughter. Her transition into our group was seamless since she already had relationships with so many of our clients. No one believes us when we say “we make clients for life” but it’s completely true. Want some proof? The picture of the flower girl below in Carleigh’s wedding is one of our client’s little girls.

Now for more about me – what else would you like to know? I was born in Mobile, Alabama but I have been a peninsula resident for 50 years now. I grew up with my mom and step-dad in Menlo Park and Redwood City. I went to Woodside High School in the late 60’s and then attended both Canada College and the College of San Mateo. Am I aging myself a little bit? When I was a youngster I was a Master Councilor in the Order of DeMolay (Menlo Park Chapter). I was very involved in sports. Bowling and softball are my all time favorites and I was active in competitive leagues for both sports during much of my life. I had a great childhood here and many of my childhood friends are still my very close friends now. These days life is good. In my free time I love to golf (Call me up! I make a great fourth!) and handicap the horse races. I also really enjoy remodeling houses. I’ve been known to pick up a project or two for work in my spare time. Janice is always such a good sport for living without a sink or floors for months at a time. Remodeling gives me great insight for real estate potential and value. I have also learned an incredible amount about the intricacies of homes. Interested in doing a fixer? Email me I am happy to give you any tips I have – and help you find the right house. One of the things I am looking forward to most is designing and building my own home to retire in. In our real estate practice I handle most of the disclosure and contractual issues. I consider myself to be a skilled real estate negotiator after practicing all of these years in one of the most intense real estate markets to ever hit the bay area. I am a member of the National, California, and San Mateo County Association of Realtors and I also have obtained the National Association of Realtors Senior Real Estate Specialist designation. I am also an active member of The Peninsula Business Network (PBN). If you have questions for me, or would like to get to know more about my business practice, feel free to email me or call anytime. I would love to hear from you.
